Hello El Toro!
I hope your Spring Break was restful and relaxing. We resume school tomorrow for the downhill slide to finish the school year. Here are the events this week at El Toro:
Monday, April 15th – Meeting at the Hill. Pledges and salutes at 7:45. The word of the week is “Self-Control.” As we come back from a week off from school, remind your students to Be Respectful, Responsible and Safe. Self-Control will be needed for students, staff and families for a successful return.
Tuesday, April 16th – Normal schedule
Wednesday, April 17th – Music with Mrs. Crane, PE with Coach, and After School Choir (12:45-2:00)
Thursday, April 18th – CABE after school (2:00 – 4:00) This is for our second language parents. A 6 week parent education session to help families connect with school and help their students be successful as they pursue their dreams. Any questions, see Maria Elena Wilde in the office. I will send a separate flyer to our wonderful EL families.
Friday, April 19th – No school
Also, we are finalizing this year’s yearbook and Mrs. Miceli has asked if any parents have pictures from this year, if you wouldn’t mind sharing them with her to fill up the yearbook with all sorts of pictures. If you would like to share, here is the link: Image Share: https://images.schoolannualonline.com/413063672
One more thing to bring to the attention of all 3rd thru 5th grade families. This year’s SBAC State Testing will be starting next week on Tuesday, April 23. We will be testing on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s for two weeks and makeup days will be scheduled as needed. Remind your student to do their very best on any test, but especially the SBAC! More information to come.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me, email me or drop by the school office.
It is always a GREAT day to be at El Toro!
